Nach dem Hotel Fairmont le Montreux Palace folgte Genf. Das Hotel Crowne Plaza nahe dem Flughafen von Genf nahm mich für ein weiteres spannendes Training auf. Diesmal der Unterschied: ein Flughafenhotel. Unterschiedliche Gäste, unterschiedliche Bedürfnisse und Angebote. Das ist definitiv eine neue wertvolle Erfahrung.

Schnell habe ich erkannt, wo ein Flughafen nahe ist, findet man auch internationale Gäste. Flug Crews und Fluggäste logierten unter einem Dach.

Dieser Kulturen-Mix führt aber auch zu Missverständnisse, die manchmal zu Konflikten führen. Während meiner Zeit im Crowne Plaza Geneva konnte ich einige herausfordernde Situationen aus dem echten Leben beobachten, die von Ana, der allgegenwärtigen und kompetenten Gästebetreuerin des Hotels, hervorragend gelöst wurden. Ana war auch meine Lehrerin: Sie zeigte mit Freundlichkeit, aber auch mit Entschiedenheit, wie sie mit allen möglichen unbekannten Situationen umgehen sollte.

Doch das Crowne Plaza war nicht nur Trainings-Gastgeber, sondern beherbergte uns auch während mein Coach mich seinen Freunden und Supporter in Genf vorgestellt hatte… und mehr Spannendes darüber erfahrt ihr in meinem nächsten Blog!

Dear Readers

Following the wonderful 3-day immersion experience at the hotel Fairmont le Montreux Palace, my training for Kazan continued in Geneva. Together with my coach, we were hosted at the Crowne Plaza – Geneva. This beautiful property located very close to the airport represented an invaluable opportunity for me to get to know a different type of clientele and thus, different needs, different expectations and therefore a different service.

The vicinity of an airport implies many international, business & leisure guests together with airplane crews and pilots, all of whom were hosted under the same roof. This also means, that many cultures are coming together at one place: I really enjoyed this mix of nationalities.

This blend of cultures does not go without some frictions and misunderstandings, leading at times to conflicts. During my time at the Crowne Plaza Geneva, I could observe some challenging “real-life” situations that were brilliantly solved by Ana, the omnipresent and competent guest relations and duty manager of the hotel. Ana was also my tutor: she demonstrated with kindness but also with firmness, how to deal with all sorts of unfamiliar situations.

My stay at the Crowne Plaza went outside the boundaries of the hotel itself: accompanied by my coach, I was introduced to many of his friends and supporters in Geneva and…
